The storage in the DVR is a 500 GB hard drive and it will store plenty of footage. It will also send email alerts that you can configure in the configuration menu.

A very neat little piece of equipment. You can also configure it to record on motion so, in the right situation, you can save some of your hard drive space by only recording when you need it to. This unit also has output triggers that you can wire into you alarm panel so that when motion is triggered it will set the alarm off. The cameras that come with the kit are good for indoor and outdoor use. They have night vision and the manufacturer says they have 49ft effective range, but I would cut that in half just so as to not disappoint anyone.  This is a very good system in my opinion and I would definitely get one for my house.
