What does the heat portion of the DSC PG9916 do?

The heat detection portion of the PG9916 will detect a sharp rise in temperature and will set off at temperatures of 135 degrees fahrenheit. This is good to have just in case for some reason the heat rises before the smoke actually reaches the detector.
