More About Alarm Sirens
Sirens are an essential component for an alarm system as they not only alert your community to the fact that someone is trying to break into your home, but they also tend to scare away would-be burglars with ear-piercing noise.
There are some sirens which we only recommend using on the inside of your home or business as they are not weatherproofed to withstand the elements. Most of the time a siren made for indoor only use will feature a paper or similar material used to make the cone of the siren and the casing is also not weather-tight. These would include the hardwired SS70H, SS100H, WAVE-2, WAVE-2EX, and the GE 13-950. We also carry wireless sirens for indoor use as well including the 5800WAVE, RE116U, and the WT4901.
We do also carry sirens that can be used indoors or outdoors and are weatherproofed to be used in the elements. These sirens are made of weatherproof materials and siren bodies that are sealed to prevent the elements from entering into the siren's interior. They also usually feature plastic or some other resistant material to make up the siren cone. These models include the MG50JR, M85PDS, ELK 150RT, POT-SSX52, and POT-SSX82. We also carry the above mentioned indoor / outdoor Potter sirens that have built-in strobe lights. These models include the POT-SSX52SA, POT-SSX52SB, POT-SSX52SC, POT-SSX52SR, POT-SSX82SA, POT-SSX82SB, POT-SSX82SC, and POT-SSX82SR. These sirens not only make loud noise when an alarm occurs but also give a visual indicator of trouble.
Also in our lineup of sirens; we feature sirens and siren strobe combination units that are commonly used with commercial fire panels such as the Fire-Lite and Silent Knight systems, however they can be used with any alarm systems. These include System Sensor models HRL, HWL, P2RL, P2WL, P2RK, SRL, and SWL. All of these can be placed in a building at strategic points to warn people that a fire has occurred in the building.
